Pavilion of Architecture

This is the first project of third year architecture in which I submitted a design for a Chicago World's Fair architecture pavilion overlooking the Chicago skyline. The design focus is the interlocking of a large transparent element(the atrium and gallery space), and a smaller opaque hub(the service and staff spaces). I played on the forms that sun shading devices would make over the exterior and allowed their rectilinear geometry to drive the design decisions. The work of Frank Lloyd Wright inspired the design in its sculptural aspects. This is a SE perspective photograph of the final model and is made of chipboard and basswood. 1/32" = 1'
